Urban Water Management Plans

The Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) is a planning document required by the state to assess the reliability of Valley Center Municipal Water District's water supplies over a 20-year planning horizon. This Plan describes the availability of water and discusses water use, reclamation, and water conservation activities, such as water use efficiency and demand management. The plan also includes Valley Center Municipal Water District's Water Shortage Contingency Plan (WSCP), which provides information on responses to water supply shortages.

These plans are updated on a five-year cycle. The District’s 2020 UWMP and WSCP were last updated and adopted by the Board of Directors in June 2021.

The 2025 Draft Urban Water Management Plan and Water Shortage Contingency Plan are available for public review below.
